2012 food trends are starting to emerge and it's American comfort food classics (with a twist) that are going to shine. According to the trend report just released by Andrew Freeman & Company, you'll be seeing mixed drinks on tap, custom french fry bars (choose your cut, color and sauce), hand-pulled noodles, savory ice creams, and more Indian street food. Put your formals aside as big name chefs will be embracing more casual dining with minimal gush and exciting edible landscapes. Also in 2012,
grilled cheese is the new burger and breakfast foods will be served at dinner. Get your meat and veggies ready because pine, fir, and eucalyptus will grace our spice rubs, sauces, and marinades. Pierogie lovers will be thrilled to hear that Eastern European dishes will be popping up and yes, that includes rich German foods. Mixologists in food trucks will be turning your dinner entrees into drinks, like the sourdough-grilled-cheese-sandwich-infused martini. Beer lovers will see more vintage beers charmed with age and added value. Enjoy your marrow bones, date glazed lamb belly, duck and goose eggs, and crispy animal skin too!
