The Firefly - Your New Summer Cocktail!

~ The Firefly ~

Ice
3 ounces tequila of your choice
1.5 ounces pineapple juice
1 ounce agave (see note)
1.5 ounces lemon juice
1 cinnamon stick or pinch of cinnamon

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila, pineapple, agave, lemon, and cinnamon. Shake, and pour into your glass of choice!

Note: play around with the amount of sweetness you like! This recipe measurement yields a pleasantly sweet drink, but if you have a sweet-tooth or sugar aversion, change it however you'd like.

A NEW COOKING SCHOOL - Amor y Canela 🌴

Hello!

I hope this finds you well and enjoying a beautiful Spring day wherever you may be.

Something new is coming to the neighborhood this summer, and we need your help opening our doors!

Growing up in Chicago I was surrounded by a community that was the customers and workers at my father’s restaurant Chez Paul. I was nourished with French food and amazing experiences. A lot of experiences took place in Mexico as it was a place that we vacationed a couple times a year.
I fell in love with beautiful country at a young age. I’m now working on opening a second cooking school down there which I hope you will come and visit. The Yucatán is a beautiful place with magical swimming holes, tropical fruits growing all around and beautiful people.

Kickstarter is a wonderful community that helps bring dreams to life. Let’s make this happen together. Thank you for supporting my kickstarter.

You may have been to the area and certainly understand my enchantment with this very welcoming and culturally rich community. Opening a school in Valladolid has been a dream of mine for some time, and now it is poised to be a reality.

Opening this September, Amor y Canela (Love and Cinnamon), will bring a much needed resource to Valladolid and this area of the Yucatan (Of course we will still be open still 7 days a week in Shelburne, Vermont).
I have planned a school and curriculum that will support and nurture the community while being an invaluable resource to both locals and travelers.

I have taken the liberty of attaching my Kickstarter campaign. You can read much more about my plans and see videos of the area and project.

With a Kickstarter, you need to secure all the funding to reach your goal, or you receive none of what has been pledged. I thought some of you may be interested in supporting this project at whatever level is comfortable for you.

Thanks for reading and considering…and may you find the support and good will needed to help you reach your most desired and treasured goals!

Thank you for your support!

My 8 Summer Essentials

As I have been soaking up the sunshine, whether at home by the lake in Vermont or amongst the sour orange trees of my Yucatan cooking school, these 8 treasures are never far! Add them to your beach bag and I promise you won’t regret a thing.

Perfect, go-anywhere recycled sailcloth tote from Papagé. Each unique bag is USA made with care and we are the only shop to carry them outside Wisconsin.

For swell sipping, I only trust S’Well water bottles. A double-walled stainless steel bottle, with a copper core, provides cool refreshment for 24 hours, a warm pick-me-up for 12 hours. We carry only the cutest styles and the accessories to complement including brushes and ice cube trays.

The Admiral Corkscrew by Viski I keep on hand just in case. One never knows when a day at the beach may include a visit to the vineyard! Elegant and durable, see them for yourself at our shop.

The most luxurious, most functional, 100% linen towel from Goodlinens. Did we mention they make kitchen towels too? Stop in and pick up yours today.

Self-described as “a cocktail for your skin,” Bar Saketini Blush Body Oil is a fun and flirty favorite for keeping my skin hydrated and soft.

Chanel. Irresistible, iconic, and exceptional. My beach day doesn’t begin until it is applied - Rouge Allure Ink, 142 Créatif.

I spoil my skin and stick it to the sun with Coola sunscreen. Just as I strive to source my ingredients locally, sustainably, and organically, Coola does the same. Our neighbors at Be Skin Clinic are your source for healthy Summer skin.

Paige denim looks the part of high fashion jeans, but they feel as cozy as pj’s! Visit Mendy’s in Shelburne to achieve effortless and comfortable Summer style.

Happy Summer!
