If I Were A Cereal I Would Be...

Yesterday Prince Charming and I were walking around our neighborhood with our three dogs and the topic of cereal came up. We started talking about cereals we grew up with (me sweetened, him not).

Vintage Waffle Irons like this one are simply where it's at!
Recently I have had customers ask me if I sell Waffle Irons. The answer is no, because I have not found new ones on market as good as the vintage waffle irons that you use right on the stove. I'm also not a

Brandy Honey Peaches

One of the first things I do on Christmas morning is open a jar of my honey brandy canned peaches. The leftover juice gets used in making some of the best margaritas!

Honey Brandy Peaches

3 1/4 cups of water
1 cup of honey
whole allspice
cinnamon sticks broken in half
brandy ( 1-3 tablespoons per quart)

Make your honey syrup by adding water, honey, and spices into a small pot. Bring to a simmer then turn off heat and left steep for 20 min. Peel and slice your peaches and fill sterilized jars. Add desired

Dinner With Solar Panels; Veggie Plants Sale; Store Update

Having diner on a working farm is not only fun and delicious but I love the connection to where my food comes from so much that to dine with the farmers is truly a pleasure!

Last Saturday evening Prince Charming and I joined 48 others for a dinner at Jericho Settlers Farm. The money raised from the dinner went to help families in need of food. The event started with a nicely detailed farm tour lead by Christa, then we enjoyed hors o'doeuvres and drinks outside the barn and later walked down to the field to have dinner.

Jericho Settlers Farm has a plant CSA (I'm signed up) and public plant sale that is not to be missed. As home gardeners we are so lucky to be able to purchase such strong and healthy vegetable starts from experts like Christa and Mark!
